Edwina H., born 1918

When Edwina's daughter asked her what she dreamed of doing to celebrate her ninetieth birthday this past June, it was a "wow" request and her daughter submitted it to Ageless Dreamer. The dream: to spend a few days "in a cottage on the beach" in Maine.  To rent a cottage on the beach anywhere in prime season are difficult to come by and very expensive. Together, the family and Ageless Dreamer decided that the month of September typically includes beautiful weather, less crowds, and available cottages.  Through the extreme generosity of Jeff and Keena C., of Wells, Maine, who were willing to provide a four day, three night stay at their family cottage, the dream unfolded. 

Edwina, along with one daughter, drove from their home in NH, and  arrived at the cottage on a perfect Monday morning, with blue skies and warm sun.  The very moment she saw the ocean from the cottage, her eyes glistened like the water and beach sand.  Climbing the four steps to the cottage porch were no obstacle when the reward was a lounge chair, sunhat, and loud quiet sounds of the ocean and seagulls! Walking  barefoot on the beach, Edwina, never stopped smiling as the sand and water tickled her toes.The next few days created more memories as she was able to share all this with her beloved family, who took turns staying overnight with her.
